Michael Neil Hyde - Loving Son & Brother

HYDE Michael Ronald Neil November 22, 1960 - March 8, 2009

Passed away peacefully in Toronto after a brave fight with pancreatic cancer. Forever remembered by his cherished and loving wife Victoria, devoted daughter Emily, parents Ron and Maureen, sisters Jennifer (Segers) and Charlotte (Sakaki), brothers Patrick (Sharon) and Sandy (Tristen), aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Born in Richmond, Michael graduated from Steveston High and during his school years, was very active with the 10th Richmond Scouts, Lansdowne Demolay and Steveston Judo Club. Michael spent twenty years in the Toronto film industry setting up a company for set production and construction along with his wife Victoria, a professional set painter. Michael and Victoria lived a full and interesting life working in the film industry, active in the Toronto National Yacht Club, wonderful friends, sailing Lake Ontario and living in their 1880's home in downtown Toronto.

Mike and Victoria moved to Vancouver along with their sailboat, the Djadara, then set sail for Mexico, the Marquesas and New Zealand joined by daughter Emily. Michael will always be remembered for his endearing spirit to live life to the fullest by traveling with Victoria and Emily to destinations where no man has gone before. Home is the sailor, home from the sea. Upon their return, they settled back in Toronto returning to the movie industry. Michael will always be held close in our hearts and ever remembered for his ready smile, love for family and friends and his love and respect for the sea and for the bounties that nature gives so freely.
